Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What type of appointments do you offer?
A: I provide in-person and telehealth appointments. Telehealth appointments are provided on a case-by-case basis due to the safe structural environment needed to support therapy. Many find that having therapy in person brings privacy, safety, and convenience that may not be afforded through telehealth.
Q: Do you accept insurance?
A: No, I do not accept insurance.
Q: What’s a sliding scale fee?
A: It’s a fee for a therapy session at a reduced rate. These fees are first come, first served. These help me offer therapy at a more affordable rate while also being able to maintain my practice. Please inquire within if you’re seeking individual therapy and would need a reduced fee.
Q: What forms of payment do you take?
A: Contactless payment via credit card and debit card. Please inquire if you are seeking to use HSA/FSA funds.
Q: What’s your cancelation policy?
A: I highly value my time and yours, so please provide greater than 24 hours notice when canceling. Less than 24 hrs. notice results in the full charge of your session fee. Clients who No Call/No Show the first session will be referred out.
Q: How do I know if I’m a good fit for premarital counseling?
A: Premarital counseling works best if you and your (future) spouse are in agreement to give the process a shot — the means showing up regularly and putting in the effort! I am not personally invested in who is right and who is wrong, but rather ask you both: how do you both make the relationship work with the skills that help you grow? Premarital counseling is a fit for couples newly engaged or newly married. Please note that couples engaging in domestic violence prior to therapy are not a good fit for my work.
Q: How do I make therapy work for me financially?
A: First, be honest and realistic about what you can invest, per session or per month. Second, have a budget for therapy that respects your financial health, as a budget is a strong habit that cannot be broken. If my fee is a barrier for you to work with me, then please inquire anyway as I would be able to provide appropriate referrals for you.
